Ice Dawgs Preview: Arkansas Hog Hockey

October 29, 2015

The Ice Dawgs will host Arkansas Hog Hockey’s DIII team in Olive Branch, Miss., on Sunday, Nov. 1.

Entering their second game of the season, the Ice Dawgs seek to clench their first W against the successful Hogs. In the Ice Dawgs opening series, they fell to Auburn 13-2 in both games. The Dawgs seeĀ promise in new recruits, as well as returning veterans.

Most notably, freshman #14 Patrick Katz from Mequon, Wis., scored twice during the series. Among him, returning players #5 Nick Clark and #18 Bobby White also lit the lamp for the Ice Dawgs. Goalie Preston Eubank faced over 175 shots throughout the weekend, giving him an 85% save percentage.

“We’ve been working really hard this past month,” said Bobby White, Ice Dawgs president and alternate captain. “We are physically and mentally ready.”

For Arkansas DIII, they have won 10 of 12 games this season, falling 4-0 to Vanderbilt and an overtime loss to Kennessaw State.

With an 8 a.m. puck drop, the Ice Dawgs hope to pull an upset this weekend.
